The Avondale Edge initiative, in collaboration with HUUB, was established to consolidate and leverage resources aimed at bolstering economic development. This strategic partnership aims to not only support the existing small business community but also to foster an environment conducive to entrepreneurial growth and innovation. By joining forces through the Avondale Edge program, the economic development team can tap into additional resources and expertise, ultimately enhancing the city's capacity for sustainable economic growth and prosperity.
Entrepreneurship is a fundamental aspect of our city's economic landscape. HUUB, as a digital resource center, is instrumental in providing essential support and guidance to small businesses. This includes access to mentorship programs, networking opportunities, financial assistance, and educational workshops. These resources are crucial for the development and sustainability of small businesses, contributing to the overall vitality and success of our city's economy.

HUUB's systems managed Fontana's microloan program, collecting data and providing training to small businesses. The city tracked candidates' progress and moved them to loan review with their CDFI partner, freeing up resources for other economic development priorities.
"Getting funding and resources out to small businesses who need it is one of our biggest priorities. HUUB has made this mission not only possible but has ensured it's success. It continues to be a pleasure to work together."

During the pandemic, HUUB partnered with the City of Mesa and over a dozen organizations, including financial institutions, business associations, and educational institutions, to deliver comprehensive support to small businesses. HUUB played a pivotal role in coordinating access to financial assistance, business consulting, and technological resources, while also helping the city collect valuable data they had never gathered before. This data enabled the city to measure and report on the impact of CARES and ARPA funding. HUUB continues to serve as the foundation for Mesa's Business Builder Program, further cementing Mesa as a model for how communities can unite to support and sustain small businesses through challenging times and beyond.
"HUUB is a critical part of our economic development strategy. The all-in-one system has been the reason we can serve more than a thousand businesses and dozens of partners. The streamline reporting and data that is collected is something we have never had before and has given us the data we need to make better decisions."
